At the Wishful Institute of Development and Education, we warmly welcome volunteers from around the world to join us in making a difference in the lives of youth and communities in Zanzibar. Volunteering with us is more than just an opportunity to give back it’s a chance to immerse yourself in Zanzibar’s rich culture while contributing to meaningful projects.

What to Expect as a Volunteer

When you volunteer with us, you will:

Contribute Meaningfully:

Help teach basic English, computer skills, and other life enriching lessons. You may also assist in organizing creative workshops or talent promotion activities like dance, music, and art.

Work Flexible Hours:

Volunteers work 3 hours per day, 4 days a week, leaving plenty of time to explore the beauty of Zanzibar.

Immerse in Local Life:

Engage with the community, learn about Zanzibars traditions, and build lifelong connections with locals and fellow volunteers.

What We Provide.

As a volunteer, we ensure you have a comfortable and supportive environment:

Donation contribution

To support the sustainability of our programs and maintain the facilities, we ask each volunteer to donate $10 per day. This contribution covers:

• Electricity and water bills.

• Maintenance and cleaning of the volunteer house.

• Basic supplies for the community projects.

• Supporting the ongoing activities of our organization.
